God's got me.

Have you ever had a friendship that you never thought would end? You thought you'd grow up together, be in each other's wedding, be the aunt to their kids, and then just one day, they weren't there anymore? No explanation they were just gone.

I had a friend when I was in middle school that I swore would be my best friend until the end of time. We were attached at the hip. If you saw one of us then you saw the other one. I trusted her with my darkest secrets and she trusted me. Then just one day out of the blue she stopped talking to me. I'd text her or call her and no response. I guess she finally got tired of me calling because she finally responded and our friendship was over. To this day, I still have zero ideas what happened.

As we've grown older we no longer hate each other. We speak when we see one another. We follow each other on social media and I absolutely love watching her sweet family grow. If I said I wasn't still upset about it and still wanted her in my life like before, then I'd be lying. To this day I still miss her. But, we were not meant to be in each other's lives in the long run, and that's okay.

Not everyone is meant to stay in our lives, and that's okay. The people that are meant for you will be given to you. God places people in our lives that we need at that time. Sometimes it's just temporary and sometimes it's for a lifetime. One thing that is certain though is that God will never leave. He will always be there for us even when we don't think we need him. He claps for us in the good times and holds us during the bad. I can't think of a better friend to hold on to.
